Mit Beginn des Lockdowns in der Schweiz am 16. März 2020 gehe ich jeden Abend ungefähr zur gleichen Zeit an den Murtensee. Am immer gleichen Ort am Strand mache ich ein Handyfoto, ein Portrait vom See. Ein visuelles Tagebuch ist am Entstehen. Die Fotos teile ich mit meinen Bekannten und Freund*innen.
Als ein persönliches Zeichen der Verbundenheit in der ausserordentlichen Zeit wurde mein Handyfoto-Versand zum Auslöser von überraschenden medialen Dialogen:
Die Komponistin Brigitte Dietrich nimmt den Umgebungston an ihrem jeweiligen Standort auf, sobald sie das Foto erhält. Es sind Eindrücke aus Bern, Liebefeld. Primula Bosshard, Fotografin, hält diese in Fribourg mit ihrer Fotokamera fest. Gila Kolb in Kassel, Kunstvermittlerin, fotografiert den Himmel über ihrer Stadt. Bettina Ezbidi, Cellistin, filmt das Tal bei Ramallah, Palästina von ihrem Balkon aus. Tägliche Bilder vom Meer und Videos von Bergen erhalte ich von der Künstlerin Marcella Barone aus Catania, Sizilien. Françoise Emmenegger, Künstlerin, in Belgrad, Serbien, hält die Isolation während der Pandemie in dieser Stadt fest.
Aus diesen und weiteren Reaktionen ist das lockdown-archive.ch gewachsen. Ziel ist ein gemeinsames Nachdenken, drängende Kursänderungen und neue Handlungsoptionen für die Zeit nach der Pandemie.
Künstlerische Herangehensweisen können eine Momentaufnahme von Welt festhalten, von einem Zustand, den wir noch nicht durchdringen. Dabei gehe ich von einem konzeptionellen Ansatz aus, der das Archivieren von Differenz und Vielförmigkeit ins Zentrum stellt. Die Verortung auf der Internetseite ermöglicht Mitarbeit und Reagieren auf die Situation, mit gestalterischen und dokumentarischen Mitteln.
Ein Ansatz, der erlaubt, Verbindungen und Zusammenhänge immer wieder neu zu knüpfen. Verbindungen wachsen zwischen dem Individuellen, das klar abgrenzbar und einzigartig erscheint, mit dem Universum des Anderen. Gemeinsam können wir Welt reflektieren, andocken an unsere Erfahrungen, Ängste, Sichtweisen und Visionen. Das hilft uns, das Ausserordentliche sichtbar zu machen.
Das Archiv, ein Ansatz, der Mehrdeutigkeit und Widersprüche zulässt und gleichsam ordnend eingreift. Die Positionen der Künstler*innen und Mitmachenden spiegeln Eigenwilligkeit und machen Mut, weiter Bilder auszutauschen, um den Diskurs um die Zukunft des Anthropozäns voran zu treiben.
Meine Handyfotos vom Murtensee, fragil auf Seidenfoulards fixiert, sind mit dem jeweiligen Datum der Momentaufnahme versehen. Sie übernehmen die Rolle eines Zeitgefässes für die andauernde, besondere Situation. Als textile Haut verbindet sich der See plötzlich mit dem Körper: Der feine Seidenstoff hüllt ein, ist Trost, Schutz und Bedrohung zugleich.

Avec le début de la fermeture de la Suisse le 16 mars 2020, je me rendrai au lac de Morat à peu près à la même heure chaque soir. Au même endroit, toujours sur la plage, je prends une photo de téléphone portable, un portrait du lac. Un journal visuel est en cours de réalisation. Je partage les photos avec mes connaissances et mes amis.
En signe de solidarité personnelle en cette période extraordinaire, mon envoi de photos par téléphone portable est devenu le déclencheur de dialogues médiatiques surprenants:
La compositrice Brigitte Dietrich enregistre le son ambiant à son emplacement respectif dès qu’elle reçoit la photo. Ce sont des impressions de Berne, de Liebefeld. Primula Bosshard, photographe, les capture à Fribourg avec son appareil photo. Gila Kolb à Kassel, médiatrice artistique, photographie le ciel au-dessus de sa ville. Bettina Ezbidi, violoncelliste, filme la vallée près de Ramallah, en Palestine, depuis son balcon. Je reçois quotidiennement des photos de la mer et des vidéos des montagnes de l’artiste Marcella Barone de Catane, en Sicile. Françoise Emmenegger, artiste, à Belgrade, Serbie, capture l’isolement pendant la pandémie dans cette ville.
De ces réactions et d’autres encore, le site lockdown-archive.ch s’est développé. L’objectif est de réfléchir ensemble, de provoquer des changements de cap urgents et de nouvelles options d’action pour la période suivant la pandémie.
Les approches artistiques peuvent saisir un instantané du monde, d’un état dans lequel nous ne sommes pas encore entrés. Ce faisant, j’adopte une approche conceptuelle qui met l’accent sur l’archivage de la différence et de la diversité. La localisation sur le site Internet permet de coopérer et de réagir à la situation, avec des moyens créatifs et documentaires.
Une approche qui permet d’établir des liens et des contextes encore et encore. Des liens se développent entre l’individu, qui apparaît clairement distinct et unique, et l’univers de l’autre. Ensemble, nous pouvons réfléchir sur le monde, en nous appuyant sur nos expériences, nos craintes, nos points de vue et nos visions. Cela nous aide à rendre l’extraordinaire visible.
L’archive, une approche qui permet l’ambiguïté et les contradictions tout en intervenant de manière ordonnée. Les positions des artistes reflètent l’individualité et nous encouragent à continuer à échanger des images afin de faire avancer le discours sur l’avenir de l’Anthropocène.
Les photos du lac de Morat que j’ai prises avec mon téléphone portable, fragilisées par des foulards de soie, sont marquées de la date respective de l’instantané. Ils assument le rôle de vaisseau temporel pour la situation spéciale en cours. Comme une peau textile, le lac se connecte soudainement au corps : le tissu de soie fine l’enveloppe, est à la fois confort, protection et menace.

With the start of the lockdown in Switzerland on 16 March 2020, I will go to Lake Murten at about the same time every evening. At the always same place on the beach I take a mobile phone photo, a portrait of the lake. A visual diary is in the making. I share the photos with my acquaintances and friends*.
As a personal sign of solidarity in this extraordinary time, my mobile phone photo mailing became the trigger for surprising media dialogues:

Bettina Ezbidi, cellist, films the valley near Ramallah, Palestine from her balcony. Daily pictures of the sea and videos of mountains I receive from the artist Marcella Barone from Catania, Sicily. Françoise Emmenegger, artist, in Belgrade, Serbia, captures the isolation during the pandemic in this city.
From these and other reactions the lockdown-archive.ch has grown. The aim is to reflect together, to bring about urgent changes in course and new options for action for the time after the pandemic.
Artistic approaches can capture a snapshot of the world, of a state we are not yet penetrating. In doing so, I start from a conceptual approach that focuses on archiving difference and diversity. The location on the internet site enables cooperation and reaction to the situation, with creative and documentary means.
An approach that allows connections and contexts to be made again and again. Connections grow between the individual, which appears clearly distinguishable and unique, and the universe of the other. Together we can reflect on the world, docking to our experiences, fears, views and visions. This helps us to make the extraordinary visible.
The archive, an approach that allows for ambiguity and contradictions and at the same time intervenes in an ordering manner. The positions of the artists* and participants reflect individuality and encourage us to continue to exchange images in order to advance the discourse on the future of the Anthropocene.
My mobile phone photos of Lake Murten, fragilely fixed on silk foulards, are marked with the respective date of the snapshot. They assume the role of a time vessel for the ongoing, special situation. As a textile skin, the lake suddenly connects with the body: the fine silk fabric envelops, is comfort, protection and threat at the same time.

Con l’inizio della chiusura in Svizzera il 16 marzo 2020, mi recherò al lago di Murten più o meno alla stessa ora ogni sera. Sempre nello stesso posto sulla spiaggia faccio una foto con il cellulare, un ritratto del lago. Sta nascendo un diario visivo. Condivido le foto con i miei conoscenti e amici*.
Come segno personale di solidarietà in questo straordinario periodo, il mio cellulare è diventato l’elemento scatenante di sorprendenti dialoghi mediatici:

Bettina Ezbidi, violoncellista, filma la valle vicino a Ramallah, in Palestina, dal suo balcone. Fotografie giornaliere del mare e video di montagna che ricevo ogni giorno dall’artista Marcella Barone di Catania, Sicilia. Françoise Emmenegger, artista, a Belgrado, in Serbia, cattura l’isolamento durante la pandemia in questa città.
Da queste e da altre reazioni è cresciuto il lockdown-archivio.ch. L’obiettivo è quello di riflettere insieme, di portare cambiamenti di rotta urgenti e nuove opzioni di azione per il periodo successivo alla pandemia.
Gli approcci artistici possono catturare un’istantanea del mondo, di uno stato che non siamo ancora penetranti. Così facendo, parto da un approccio concettuale che si concentra sull’archiviazione della differenza e della diversità. La posizione sul sito internet permette la cooperazione e la reazione alla situazione, con mezzi creativi e documentari.
Un approccio che permette di creare sempre nuove connessioni e contesti. Le connessioni crescono tra l’individuo, che appare chiaramente distinguibile e unico, e l’universo dell’altro. Insieme possiamo riflettere sul mondo, agganciandoci alle nostre esperienze, paure, punti di vista e visioni. Questo ci aiuta a rendere visibile lo straordinario.
L’archivio, un approccio che permette ambiguità e contraddizioni e allo stesso tempo interviene in modo ordinato. Le posizioni degli artisti* e dei partecipanti riflettono l’individualità e ci incoraggiano a continuare a scambiarci immagini per far avanzare il discorso sul futuro dell’Antropocene.
Le foto del mio cellulare del lago di Murten, fragilmente fissate su foulard di seta, sono contrassegnate con la rispettiva data dell’istantanea. Assumono il ruolo di una nave del tempo per la situazione particolare in corso. Come una pelle tessile, il lago si connette improvvisamente con il corpo: il fine tessuto di seta avvolge, è comfort, protezione e minaccia allo stesso tempo.
